Prepare for the STAIR!

A few comments on the Stair project.

Layering in PowerPoint.  I am using photos and clip-art in my presentation.  I am layering things in each slide so that they appear at the appropriate time.  I wish that their was a better way to switch between the layers.  I often have to move  the front graphic aside to reach the back layer.

Mouse overs- I am liking this feature!  If a student puts their mouse over a picture it can show them the word or vice versa.  It is a great way to have ”hints” available for students without a click!  Very cool!

Sounds in PowerPoint- after collaborating with the marvelous minds in CEP 811, I got the idea to use my microphone to record my students’ voices to use in my PowerPoint.  I think that they will get a kick out of hearing their own voice during the PowerPoint.  I am a newbie when it comes to using a microphone, so it will be a learn as I go experience!

Wow! You have accomplished a lot. I have not gotten quite that far. I know what I want my stAIR project to look like and do. However, actually producing it has been a chore and somewhat confusing. I know who to go to if and when I need assistance! I think using your students’ voices is a brilliant idea. Let me know how it works out!

    Hey Beth,
I spent a great deal of time working on my StAIR and I am now starting over. I had some problems with moving between slides and I also wanted to change how some things looked. I am looking forward to sharing with you at class on Friday. I am hoping that we can get some good (yet simple) ideas from eachother. See you Friday. Holly
